FIREFIGHTERS ON A MISSION OF HOPE-JOIN THE LAFD AND “CODE 3 FOR A CURE”

 

 

The Los Angeles Fire Department will help launch the “Code 3 For A Cure” cross-country tour, beginning in California and ending in New York Times Square.  Come and join us for the kick-off and departure of the Code 3 crew of firefighters, along with the founder of “Code 3 For A Cure”, honored Firefighter / Cancer survivor Lorenzo Abundiz, (retired Santa Ana Fire). The Code 3 crew will be driving a fire engine on this cross-country tour of 5,482 miles round trip. Their goal is to help raise funds for a variety of non-profit organizations that are fighting the war on cancer. They seek to bring awareness and to find a cure, especially for firefighter related cancers.

 

The Code 3 crew will be stopping at various fire departments along the journey, collecting the names of fallen firefighters who have died from cancer. Those names will be read at the crossroads of the world, Times Square. A fire bell mounted on the fire engine will toll for each name read.
